Ruth Torres Castillo is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at New Mexico State University, who earned her Ph.D. from NMSU with a concentration in Curriculum & Instruction and Computer Science at New Mexico State University (NMSU). She received a Masters degree in Management of Information Technologies from Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico in 2010 prior to joining NMSU.

Her research interests include developing educational games that enhance critical thinking and help construction of knowledge rather than just the transmission of it. She is a graduate assistant in the Learning Games Lab at NMSU for the Math Snacks project funded by NSF to engage algebra-learning topics with multimedia tools.
