Cherokee Trail Elementary
5th Grade Teacher
Parker, CO
I attended the University of Northern Colorado and graduated in 2009 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies of Liberal Arts with an emphasis in English. I am currently in my fourteenth year of teaching and have taught primarily intermediate elementary grade levels (4-6). Four years ago, my teammate and I developed a new way to teach math. We wanted to find a way for our students to take ownership in their learning while also finding a way that provided students opportunities to apply their learning. We think our approach is great for that. It is ever changing just as our students are, which makes it very exciting. Teaching is not a "job" for me. I love making an impact on my students lives just as much as them making an impact on me. I am a life long learner and am thrilled to have any opportunity to better myself as an educator.
