New Mexico Connections Academy
Teacher/Math Coach
Rowe, NM
I have been teaching as a classroom teacher for 17 years. I’ve taught elementary 4th-6th, middle school math 6th-8th, PE K-8, and have been a math coach helping teachers the past few years.
I have a degree in elementary education supported my mathematics, physical education, and much research, training, and experience dealing with how we all learn math.
I love to read good books. Fiction and any epic tale are my favorites. I am a constant researcher of things I want to know, as well as, things I need to know. I spend much time fishing, golfing, hiking, and winding down quite dirt roads in exploration of new places.
Before I went into teaching I worked in construction, waited tables at exclusive restaurants in Las Vegas, NV, and began a family. I have three grown children beginning their own families and one young buck who is 12 and entering into Connections Academy this year as an 8th grader. Twelve chickens, four dogs (one I call Wiener Wiener because she’s so tiny), her real name is Winnifred James. Winny for short. I live in the mountains of Rowe, NM and enjoy a peaceful life working in the garden and cutting and splitting firewood for those cold winter months.
