Robbi Berry is a 5th grade teacher at Monte Vista Elementary School in Las Cruces, NM. She has been teaching for 24 years and is passionate about instilling a love of learning in her students. She particularly enjoys empowering them in the area of mathematics and getting them to accept that “we can all learn math.” As a military spouse, she has taught in four different states, and this has given her some unique opportunities to grow professionally and view different perspectives and techniques. She is a member of both the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the New Mexico Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NMCTM), as well as serving as her school’s representative for the New Mexico Teacher Leader Network (NMTLN). She received the NMPED Excellence in Teaching Award in 2018 and was honored to be recognized as 2019 Educator of the Year by the Las Cruces Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
